A total of 13,677 applications have been submitted for the transfer of MPO-listed teachers. The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) plans to hold a meeting after verification of the applications.

The meeting will discuss the transfer process and the possible date for publishing the results. A DSHE official told TheSun.bd on Monday, September 14, that the meeting date will be set by the Director General.

Officials concerned, including those from Teletalk, will be informed after the meeting date is fixed. The meeting may also review several issues linked to the transfer process.

Meeting may discuss errors in applications

The meeting may consider whether teachers should get a chance to fix errors in their applications. It may also review the teacher demand shown by institutions.

Some institutions may have shown a higher need for teachers than required. Officials may discuss whether such demands should be reduced during the transfer process.

The meeting may also consider an edit option for teachers. This could help applicants correct mistakes found after they submitted their forms.

Another issue may concern teachers who receive transfer orders but later do not want to join. Officials may discuss whether such teachers must join the new institution.

They may also discuss whether teachers could decline a transfer under certain conditions. Sources said the meeting may cover most stages of the transfer process.

These stages may include application checks, error correction and teacher needs. They may also include transfer orders and joining the new workplace.

Application deadline ended on September 13

The application deadline for private MPO-listed teachers ended on September 13. The online application process had first been set for August 21 to August 27.

The deadline was later extended. September 12 and 13 were set as the final dates for submitting transfer applications.

The transfer process is being carried out through software developed with technical help from Teletalk Bangladesh Limited. An applicant could choose up to three institutions in order of preference.

The applications will be checked through the software under the Transfer Policy for MPO-listed Teachers 2026 (Amended). After verification, the authorities will issue transfer-based placement orders.

Key rules under the transfer policy

The transfer process covers MPO-listed teachers at private schools and colleges. It includes heads of institutions, assistant heads, demonstrators and trade instructors.

A teacher can apply to the district listed in their job application. If no post is vacant there, the teacher can apply to a vacant post in another district in the same division.

Teachers can also apply to their spouse's home district. They can also apply to the district where their spouse works.

The spouse must work for a government, semi-government or autonomous body. An MPO-listed educational institution is also included under the policy.

The policy says a teacher can apply after completing two years from the first joining date. After joining a new workplace, the teacher must work there for at least two years.

The transfer notification was issued on August 18. The process is being carried out under the amended 2026 policy.

For now, no specific date has been announced for the transfer results. The next step is the DSHE meeting after the application verification process.
