MPO Teacher Transfer Results

There is no decision yet to publish transfer results for MPO-listed teachers at private schools and colleges, DSHE Director General Professor Dr. Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel said on Thursday, October 1.

He told The Sun that some issues must be solved first. He also said the Education Minister is directly overseeing the transfer matter.

The statement came after posts spread in Facebook groups on Wednesday. The posts claimed that the results could be published at any time.

The posts also claimed to have information from senior officials of the Ministry of Education. Professor Dr. Sohel said there was no truth in those claims.

“There are several complications that need to be resolved,” he said. “These issues have to be addressed first.”

He said the transfer matter is being given due importance. But he said no decision has yet been made on publishing the results.

13,678 transfer applications submitted

The application process ended on September 13. It was open to MPO-listed teachers working at schools and colleges.

DSHE data shows that 13,678 applications were submitted. The number of teachers who applied cannot be confirmed from that figure.

Each teacher could submit more than one application. So, the total number of applications is not the same as the number of applicants.

No date for publishing the results was announced in the latest statement. Teachers will have to wait for a formal decision from the authorities.

Secretary speaks about pay scale and transfers

Meanwhile, Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Abdul Khaleque spoke about MPO-listed teachers on Wednesday.

He said MPO-listed teachers would come under the national pay scale through one gazette notice. He said another gazette notice would not be needed.

Khaleque made the remarks at a training event in the capital. The event was held at the National Academy for Educational Management.

The event was for non-cadre teachers of newly nationalised government colleges. He also said the authorities were trying to train 500,000 teachers.

Khaleque said government college teachers would get transfer facilities. He added that a policy was being prepared.

The two statements cover separate matters. The DSHE DG spoke about the pending transfer results. The secretary spoke about pay scale, training and transfer policy.

For now, no date has been set for the MPO teacher transfer results. The results will be published after the pending issues are resolved and a decision is made.
