Standard Xiaomi 18 tipped to feature dual 200MP cameras
The standard Xiaomi 18 is expected to launch in December with a 200MP primary camera and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera.
Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 18 Pro series in China last week. However, the standard Xiaomi 18 was not included in that announcement. According to tipster Panda is Bald on Weibo, the base model could launch separately in December.
The tipster claims the Xiaomi 18 will use a dual 200MP rear camera setup. This would include a 1/1.28-inch 200MP primary sensor and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera.
The telephoto camera is tipped to support 3x optical zoom. The phone is also expected to include a 50MP ultrawide camera for wider shots.
The Xiaomi 18 is also said to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. The chipset would be paired with a 6.4-inch M11 display with a 1.5K resolution.
Another key detail is the battery. The phone is tipped to pack a 7,200mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging.
If these details are accurate, the standard Xiaomi 18 could offer a camera setup close to the Pro models. However, the information remains based on a tip and has not been confirmed by Xiaomi.
The December launch timing has also been repeated by the same tipster. Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the launch date or the listed specifications.
