BTEB Polytechnic Admission 2026: 80,000 Applied for 40,000 Seats

The online application for BTEB Polytechnic Admission will end on September 18, 2026. Till now, around 80,000 students have collected admission forms for government polytechnic institutes for the 2026 academic year. The institutes have more than 40,000 available seats, making this one of the largest application numbers for the admission process.

Online applications can be submitted until Friday, September 18. The admission test will be held on Saturday, September 26, according to the information provided.

The admission test will run from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Students must reach their assigned examination centres within the required time and take part in the test.

The test will carry 70 marks. It will cover Bangla, English, Mathematics, General Science, and an Aptitude Test.

Mathematics and General Science will each carry 20 marks. Bangla and English will carry 10 marks each, while the Aptitude Test will carry 10 marks.

Another 30 marks will come from the students’ SSC GPA. The fourth subject will not be included in the GPA calculation for this part of the admission process.

50 Government Polytechnic and Monotechnic Institutes

There are currently 50 government polytechnic and monotechnic institutes under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB).

Of these, 44 are general polytechnic institutes. There are also four women’s polytechnic institutes and two specialised or monotechnic institutes.

The large number of applications shows strong interest in government technical education. With more than 40,000 seats available, students will need to complete the admission process within the stated deadlines.

Admission Test and Classes

Students seeking admission must take the scheduled test at their designated examination centre. The test will assess several basic academic subjects along with aptitude.

After the admission process, classes for selected students are scheduled to begin on October 11. The next major step for applicants is to complete their online applications by the September 18 deadline and prepare for the September 26 test.
