The Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board has published the schedules for this year’s Ebtedayee and Dakhil scholarship examinations. The exams will begin on December 8, with separate schedules and instructions for candidates.
The board published the two notices on Wednesday, September 2. The Ebtedayee examination is for fifth-grade students, while the Dakhil examination is for eighth-grade students.
Ebtedayee Scholarship Exam Routine 2026
The Ebtedayee scholarship examination will start with Quran Majid and Tajweed on December 8, 2026. The exam will begin at 10:00 am and continue for 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Arabic First and Second Papers will be held on December 10. Bangla and English examinations will take place on December 13, followed by Mathematics and Science on December 15.
The Bangla and English exams will be held on the same day under separate codes. Candidates will also use separate answer scripts for the two subjects.
For Mathematics and Science, the full marks will be 100. Mathematics will carry 60 marks, while Science will carry 40 marks.

Dakhil Scholarship Exam Schedule
The Dakhil scholarship examination will also begin on December 8, 2026, at 10:00 am. The first day will include Quran Majid and Tajweed, and Aqaid and Fiqh.
Arabic First and Second Papers will be held on December 10. Bangla and English will be held on December 13, while Mathematics and Science will be held on December 15.
The Dakhil examinations will continue for three hours. Mathematics will carry 70 marks and Science will carry 30 marks.
Nine instructions for Ebtedayee candidates
The Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board has issued nine instructions for Ebtedayee scholarship candidates.
Candidates must take their seats at least 30 minutes before the examination starts. They must also collect their signed and stamped admit cards from their institutions at least seven days before the exam.
Candidates must correctly fill in their roll number, registration number and subject code on the OMR form. They must not fold the answer script under any circumstances.
Candidates may use a board-approved general scientific calculator. Programmable calculators are not allowed.
No candidate may take a mobile phone, smartwatch, headphones or other electronic device into the examination centre. Only the centre secretary may carry such devices.
For candidates with special needs, an additional 20 minutes will be provided for the relevant examinations.
Nine instructions for Dakhil candidates
The board has also issued nine instructions for Dakhil scholarship candidates. Candidates must enter the examination hall and take their seats 30 minutes before the exam begins.
They must collect their signed and stamped admit cards from their institutions at least seven days before the examination.
Candidates must properly fill in their examination roll number, registration number, and subject code on the OMR form. The answer script must not be folded.
A general scientific calculator approved by the board may be used. Programmable calculators are not permitted.
Mobile phones, smartwatches, headphones and other electronic devices are prohibited for candidates at the examination centre. The centre secretary is exempt from this restriction.
Candidates with special needs will receive an additional 30 minutes for the relevant Dakhil examinations.

The Ebtedayee scholarship examination will follow the question structure approved by the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board. It will use fifth-grade madrasah textbooks prepared by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board.
