Jahangirnagar University (JU) Admission Test 2027 Likely to Begin on January 17

Jahangirnagar University (JU) may start its first-year admission test on January 17 next year. The plan is for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Professor Dr. Md. Shamsul Alam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education), confirmed the plan on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. He said the university plans to start the tests from January 17, 2027.

The JU Admission Test 2027 date is not final yet. The Academic Council will decide the final test method and full schedule at its next meeting.

JU had planned to hold admission tests in divisional cities from the 2026-27 academic year. The university had taken steps to support that plan.

Officials collected information about possible exam centres in four divisional cities. They also collected details from four universities about possible test centres.

The plan now faces time and management problems. The time slots set for divisional tests have already ended.

Professor Shamsul Alam said divisional tests could not be arranged before April or May. Such a plan would delay the university’s admission process.

The university is now considering tests on its own campus. If this plan is approved, one unit may be tested each day.

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor said there is a plan to start the tests by the third week of January. The Academic Council will make the final decision.

For now, January 17 is a planned date. It should not be treated as the final admission test date until the council approves the schedule.
