Primary Teacher Appointment Letters to Continue Until October 1

Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milan has said the issue of primary teacher appointment letters will go on until October 1, 2026.

He made the statement at a press event at the Secretariat on Monday, September 28. The event came after a meeting of the National Steering Committee for World Teachers’ Day 2026.

The minister said 817 candidates are still under review. Checks are being done in phases, and officials are also receiving new address details from them.

He said about 1.069 million people took part in the teacher job test held during the interim government. The government then began work to complete the job process in a proper way.

The minister said final papers were received from 854 candidates from 33 districts or areas. He said the District Primary Education Officer, known as DPO, gives the job letters.

Some checks were still due for the candidates, he said. Many had also changed their home address. They are now giving the needed papers in phases.

The minister said some news reports had caused fear among candidates. He said some reports gave wrong details about the state of the job process.

He said one report made it seem that the process had ended. But, he said, final letters had been issued in some cases.

The minister also said some reports came out before the result of another candidate was known. He called this very sad.

He said he issued a press note after seeing the reports. Cases of people who have not yet got their job letters are being watched and checked.

The minister said the process will go on until October 1. The next steps will follow the checks and the papers sent by the candidates.
