New Pay Fixation Starts Monday

The pay fixation process for government officers and employees will begin on Monday, October 5. It will follow the new national pay structure.

The Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance has asked all government employees to complete the process by October 20.

The full process must be completed online through the Pay Fixation module of iBAS++.

Employees will need to provide correct salary and service information. They should also keep the required documents ready before starting the process.

What employees should keep ready

Employees should first check their National Identity Card or NID number. They should also have their date of birth and current designation ready.

Their current grade and date of joining the service will also be needed. Employees should know their basic salary as of June 30, 2026.

Previous service records are also important.

These may include earlier pay fixation, promotion and transfer records. Information about time scale, selection grade or higher grade may also be required.

Employees should keep the related office orders and supporting documents ready.

The mobile number registered with iBAS++ should remain active during the process.

Incorrect information may delay pay fixation

Incorrect or incomplete information may cause problems when fixing the new basic salary.

Errors in a name, NID number or date of birth may require correction. The same applies to mistakes in designation, grade or basic salary.

Missing service information may also affect the new salary calculation.

For example, problems may arise if promotion or transfer records are missing. Records about time scale, selection grade or higher grade are also important.

Employees should therefore check all details before submitting the online form.

If they face any problem while entering the information, they can seek help from the concerned accounts officer.

Online submission does not complete the process

Submitting information through iBAS++ will not mean the pay fixation is complete.

The concerned salary and accounts payment officer's office will check the information. It will compare the submitted details with the employee's service records.

If the information matches the official records, final approval will be given.

If any difference is found, corrections may be required.

After approval, iBAS++ will automatically generate a special verification number.

The verification number and the newly fixed salary will then be added to the employee's service records.

Arrears may be adjusted with October salary

After pay fixation is completed, the October salary bill will use the new basic salary.

The difference between the new and previous salary will also be calculated. This will be used to determine arrears for about three months.

However, the arrears amount will not be the same for everyone.

The amount will depend on the employee's grade and previous basic salary. It will also depend on the salary fixed under the new structure.

The effective date of the new salary will also affect the calculation.

For this reason, correct service history is important. Both current salary details and earlier service records should be complete.

The Finance Division has set October 20 as the deadline for completing the pay fixation process. Employees may need to correct any mismatch before their new salary receives final approval.
