XI Class Academic Classes Start Today After One-Day Delay

The first phase of XI Class Admission has ended for the session 2026-2027. Formal academic classes begin today, Thursday, September 24, across Bangladesh.

Classes were due to begin on September 23. However, educational institutions across the country were closed that day for Fateha-i-Yazdaham. The class start date was moved to September 24.

The Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee informed heads of the concerned institutions about the change in a letter.

The first phase of Class XI admission began on September 2. Students could apply online until 8 pm on September 10. A total of 995,234 students applied in this phase.

Of these students, 980,815 were nominated for admission to colleges. The first-phase results were published on the night of September 16.

Nominated students then had to complete admission at their colleges from September 20 to 22. The admission process for the selected students was completed on September 22.

Under the admission policy, 93 percent of college seats will remain open to all students based on merit. Students were selected through a merit list based on SSC and equivalent examination results.

Another 7 percent of seats have been proposed under a quota system for the 2026–27 academic year. Five percent is proposed for children of freedom fighters and martyred freedom fighters.

The remaining 2 percent is proposed for children of officers and employees of the Ministry of Education and its subordinate departments and agencies.

Students who did not receive a college in the first phase can apply in the second phase. This also applies to students who did not apply or failed to complete admission.

Students who failed to confirm their selection can also apply in the second phase. The same applies to those who could not complete the admission process.

Second-phase online applications will open on September 27. Applications will close at 8 pm on September 28. The results will be published at 8 pm on October 1.

Selected students must confirm their selection by October 3. If they miss the deadline, their application and selection will be canceled.

The second migration results will be published at 8 pm on October 4. The results will follow students’ college preference orders. The final admission process will run from October 5 to 7.

Students who applied in the first phase but were not nominated for a college will not need to pay another fee. They can log in online and change their college preferences.

They can also add new colleges if needed. In the second phase, students can choose at least five and up to 10 colleges.

Selected students must confirm their selection within the stated deadline. Otherwise, their selection and application will be canceled.
