Xi Class Admission: 2nd Phase Application Date Soon

A total of 14,415 students who applied for Class XI admission in the 2026–27 academic year did not receive a seat in the first phase. The group includes 2,205 students who achieved a GPA of 5.

Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, president of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, said these students will get another chance to apply.

He told The Sun that a new application round will open after the first phase of admission ends and classes begin. Students who could not apply earlier will also get an opportunity in this round.

However, the board has not yet announced a specific date for the second-phase application process.

Class XI Admission Results

The first-phase results show that 980,815 students were nominated for admission to colleges. In total, 995,234 students applied for Class XI admission this year.

Online applications began on September 2 and ended at 8pm on September 13. Under the admission guidelines, each student could select at least five and up to 10 colleges.

The results have raised concern among students who were not selected by any college. The board has confirmed that another application opportunity will be provided.

When Will Class XI Classes Begin?

Classes for students admitted in the first phase are scheduled to begin on September 24.

Classes were originally scheduled to start on September 23. The date was postponed by one day because educational institutions across Bangladesh will remain closed that day for Fateha-e-Yazdaham.

The second-phase application process is expected to begin after the first phase is completed and classes start. The board will provide further details about the schedule.

416 Colleges Receive No Students

Meanwhile, 416 colleges did not receive any students in the first phase.

Asked about these institutions, Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman said the Ministry of Education will decide what steps should be taken regarding colleges and madrasas that received no students.

The board will present the information to the Education Minister and the Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division. Further steps will be taken based on their views.

For students who did not receive a college in the first phase, the next opportunity will come through the additional application round. Further information about the application date and process will be announced by the education authorities.
