GST Admission Test 2027 Date To Be Announced Soon

Public universities in Bangladesh have started work for the GST Admission session 2026-2027. Seven universities have already shared their test dates. But the date for the GST admission test is still not fixed.

A meeting of vice-chancellors is expected soon. They will discuss the test date and which university will run the process this year.

Dhaka University, Khulna University and MIST will hold tests in December 2026. Rajshahi University, Jagannath University, Chittagong University and KUET will hold tests in January and February 2027.

GST is a group admission system for general, science and technology universities. The date for the first-year test has not yet been fixed.

The delay has raised concern among students. Still, university leaders say no final choice has been made.

Professor Dr Md Shawkat Ali is the Vice-Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University. He said an earlier meeting did not make a final choice. More meetings will take place before the test date is set.

Professor A K M Matinur Rahman is the Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University. He said all vice-chancellors will meet to discuss the admission process. He said the group of universities and the test date will be clear after the meeting.

The vice-chancellors of Pabna University of Science and Technology and Gopalganj University of Science and Technology gave similar views.

Professor Dr Golam Rabbani is the Vice-Chancellor of Noakhali Science and Technology University. He said no meeting of the GST admission group had been fixed yet. He also said no choice had been made on which university will run the process.

Last year, the GST group had about 13,500 seats. None of last year's member universities has said that it will leave the group this year.

So, the same universities are expected to stay in the group for now. But the final list will depend on the decision of the concerned authorities.

The university in charge has changed in past years. Islamic University handled the process earlier. Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University handled it last year.

Professor Rabbani said the duty will be given based on the set order. The next meeting is expected to bring more clarity on the test date and the university in charge.
